‘The World’s Wackiest Addictions’
Last week I gave you the 'Top Screw-ups Of The Week'.
Today its 'The World's Wackiest Addictions'.
By and large (my mother used to keep saying that!!) - everyone is addicted to something. Most of us think of addictive behaviors as being mostly about drug abuse, alcohol addiction or pronounced over-eating.
This may come as a shock - we 'standard model' run of the mill types are not too far removed from those considered to have 'addictive personalities'. Consider this, how many times have you heard someone say they are an 'addictive cleaner.'
When you think about it almost anything can be habit forming
Food, shoes, TV, sport, smoking, chocolate, exercise, coffee, cleaning etc. Psychology of addiction itself is complex, if not kind of twisted, but it is a reality for millions world wide.
I have a friend who is chronically addicted to 'popping bubble wrap' - crazy as it may seem she absolutely, really gets her nickers in some sort of twist if anyone gets to the bubble wrap before she does. It seems looking at 'ready popped bubble wrap' not popped by hers truly is a trigger for her to demonstrate all sorts weird behavior.
If you were wondering
Yes!! - Oh Yes!! I have my own 'personal arrangement of 'addictions' none however so colorful as some of the more obscure ones that I have come across. So, maybe I can't be left alone anywhere close to shoe shops and easter eggs, but that's a whole lot better than eating dirt, licking bricks or exercising myself to death.
My children on the other hand have never forgotten how they were forced into having to hide their eggs from me every Easter. Bless them, they have continued the ritual by warning my grandchildren of the need to do this as well.
If you have any of your own addictions...let us know, make a comment or if you would like your story featured Email Us Here.
Anyway, back to where this all began
Click here to be amazed if not amused at the 'World's Wackiest Addictions' . From Tanorexia (addiction to tannings) to the bizarre addiction to eat dirt!
Yours in mountains of shoes (and easter eggs - mmm! they have just the best chocolate)

I think you are so right about work being an addiction. Seems these days though there is not a lot of choice , workdays seem to be longer and longer. It is wise though to keep it under control rather than it keeping you controlled.
Cheers

I understand the bubble wrap addiction. Nothing wrong with it from all I can tell. And your do not need an addiction treatment center to get rid of that one
LOL..I like your sense of humor there James and thanks for visiting. I agree, bubblewrap seems harmless enough.
Cheers

Taking a life saving or emergency drug is good. But being addicted for a drug is really bad thing. We need to be very careful about that. Some of us in the addiction of sexual drug or sleeping pill try to recover this. We need to do something for rehabilitation of addicted persons.
Too true, Renz..too true and yes I agree that rehabilitation is needed for all addicts.
Drug addiction is world weakest addiction. Drug cravings are very difficult to manage, it forces a person back to addiction. . Our site helps you get free from Drug cravings.
This is very interesting. If someone is addicted to drugs or alcohol though they should get help. It is not healthy to be addicted to alcohol or drugs.
I just wanted to let you know that I have been reading your blog and have added you to my Google news reader. Thanks for all the great information! Keep it coming!
I think I may enjoy a music addiction (System of a Down in particular)
Or perhaps one creating art. Meh, my little “addictions” have yet to negatively effect my life so, *shrugs*
