Have Something Different For Your Hen Night
Something Different For Your Hen Night

If we look into the history of hen night, it used to be a dinner party for the bride-to-be by her friends, and family, a few days before her wedding. However, this tradition has been transformed into a night full of joy, and fun for the bride before her wedding. The guests of the party are normally the friends, and family members of the bride, who have organised the whole event.
The organisers look forward to organising a party full of fun, and enjoyment in a way that has never been done before.
This event is a little bit challenging one, as you want to have fun within the limits of safety. The friends of the bride for the event usually generate the ideas, or they even take the suggestions of the bride as well, as it is an event especially for her. Everyone is looking for something new for the party that has never been tried before, as the stereotype activities have gone too old to be fun anymore.
The best way to do this is to transform the old ideas and activities in the new ones.
Most people search over the Internet for new party ideas, or contact party organisers to help them out. Traditional ideas have included clubbing, dinner parties, themed night outs or a visit to the strippers. However, the main idea is that nobody should get offended and generally have a memorable night. A notable etiquette expert puts it in these words, "Whatever entertainment is planned, it should not embarrass, humiliate, or endanger the honouree or any of the guests".
The great idea is to come up with a theme for the night. You can either get the costumes according to the theme, on rent or purchase them for a nominal price. This is always a very fun thing to do. The theme should be the one that is the favourite of the bride, and she is obsessed with it. One such theme may be Sex and The City movies, if the bride is obsessed with it, you can have the whole night organised accordingly, and everybody should be asked to wear the relevant dresses.
Arrange different games to add more fun to the party, the games can also be themed. An example of the game is the superhero themed event, and all the girls can try their "superhero powers" to get as many mobile numbers of men as possible. The other option may be traditional card games, or purchase special card games, combined with drinking games.
Another good idea is to organise for giveaways or souvenirs, to send the guests with a memorabilia of the event. Arrange something special to giveaway to the bride. More advisable is that this should represent what the theme of the night is proposed. Lots of gift shops cater for such stuff.
If the bride suggests doing something a bit rowdy, you can always opt for a playboy themed night out. Let the girls come dressed as playboy bunnies, hire a limo and a VIP lounge within a top club. It allows gaining a lot of attention, and there is a lot of glamour associated. Plus, it makes up for a lot of last time flings for the bride.
Nevertheless, whatever you end up planning for the hens night of your best friend, make sure that you ask for a plenty of suggestions, plan everything out, make advance bookings, stay safe and have fun.

LOL … !!
I think if I had the money then I would seriously consider paying not only a wedding planner but also a hen’s night organiser to take all the stress out of it…in saying that – where I live they are VERY expensive…
Hi Joanna
If it was affordable it certainly would be the way to go!
Cheers

I agree with Adam, I have been helping one of my best friends prepare her hen’s night and its amazing what you can come up with if you’re willing to use your imagination and do a little research online etc…
Very true Sally – a friend of my daughters recently came up with quite a novel theme for her ‘Hens Nite” – each of the girls had to go dressed as her favorite cocktail … and then …that was all she was allowed to drink all night. They can back with some hilarious stories … I might just do a post on them, so watch this space (Blog)..ha ha!
Cheers

Great advice. There is no real need to pay a company to run your Hen. A bit of imagination, some great friends and a lot of fun are the key ingredients

Hear, Hear Adam!
think the themed Sex in The City night is a far better idea – Great excuse for getting out those so expensive shoes from the wardrobe and wearing them
Absolutely!!
I am looking for a great wedding dress, so this article helped me a lot.
It seems all my girlfriends have opted for the “lets go away somewhere better/flashier than the boys” option – Which is such a shame – I think the themed Sex in The City night is a far better idea – Great excuse for getting out those ooo so expensive shoes from the wardrobe and wearing them
Sounds like you have hit the nail on head there – but still, you never know what will turn up when you venture out and go away somewhere with the girls!!
Cheers
