Sometimes while at work or in the middle of a bustling busy day, people find themselves taking a few moments to open up their personal email files. And all of a sudden, they are laughing and guffawing so loudly. It's one of those funny forwards and they are so hilarious sometimes! They also serve a wonderful purpose.

Funny email forwards come in a wide variety. They can be made up of pictures. Sometimes people take pictures of kittens, puppies or babies and put them together on a page, with a humorous or uplifting message for people to read.

There might be a link to the page in the forward, or the page will be embedded into the email itself. Pictures can also be directly embedded in an email forward, because many programs allow a lot of customization to an individual email. Words can be in different fonts and colours and images can be placed in the right spots.

Photo manipulated images are often part of funny forwards. They are pictures that someone has taken and changed. Sometimes the changes are just the addition of words or things that make people laugh, that others have said.

Some funny forwards include videos. You might find one of the infamous 'bat to the groin of Dad' videos, or a video of a rabbit and a cat confused about species. Sometimes people like to show off funny videos of people singing songs terribly. Imagine being at work and opening your personal email only to be serenaded by the worst karaoke ever!

People always get a laugh out of the skateboarding dog or the cat sleeping on the television who falls off suddenly. And don't forget how people howl when they watch simple bicycle accidents where someone runs into a lake or a tree!

From crazy things kids say to wacky practical jokes people have played on others, funny forwards are ways to break up the rather bleak day at the office or to lighten a load off a heavy heart. Sometimes they turn into a way of contacting someone else. All of a sudden a forward lands in your inbox and you see a name you haven't seen for a very long time.
That first contact has been made, again, and you can send back a happy 'lol' and start up a real conversation.

One thing that most people forget is how to respect a person's privacy when it comes to email. It isn't very hard to use the BCC or blind carbon copy option rather than the typical CC when we are sending out funny forwards. BCC is a very easy way to show people you are respectful of their privacy and their right to keep their email address to themselves. It makes your friends and family feel just a bit safer. And you still get to send them that laugh inducing funny forward!

It's also important to remember that while making us laugh, funny forwards can also make us think. Some are based on political satire about real world issues we didn't know were happening. And some are actually brain teasers, requiring a bit of puzzle solving or problem solving skills. Other funny forwards are humorous while also being potent enough to make us sit back and go 'hmm' for at least a few minutes.

Funny forwards can make people laugh. They also give warm fuzzy feelings inside the belly. Many people don't get to talk to others, all day long. Opening a personal letter from a friend and seeing a funny forward inside can make all the difference sometimes. And isn't it just important even for only a few minutes, people have the chance to smile, laugh and feel good, think about something happy? A simple email with a few words to help people feel they're a part of the joke does that.
